The Wave Cast, The Spiral and the SmaIl Roll cast
Slowed down Angular cast
Low parallel cast and superimposed cast
Overturned Cast
The Wave and the Spiral, apart from being useful to lift your fly off the water without creating waves, splashes and getting your fly completely soaked, also serve as a base for other casts like the Anchored cast.

An extremely effective cast is the Slowed down Angular cast or Piled up cast. Firstly you should not mistake this with the old piled up cast that had the finality to pile up the line where the current is faster. The slowed down angular or piled up cast lets you deposit your leader not in the faster current but in the place where you intend placing your fly.
These are two of the most spectacular casts of the Italian Casting Technique; two masterpieces of dynamics which are useful for getting under the bushes and to fight drag...
The surface of moving waters is never the same as another one so this means that your approach and the types of casts you will use to fight drag will require different solutions. That is there isn’t only one way to fight drag but various solutions for different situations.
